Students’ Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate use of subject –
verb agreement according to person and number.
Information for Teachers
·
Subjects and verbs must agree
with one another in number (singular or plural). Thus, if a subject is
singular, its verb must also be singular; if a subject is plural, its verb must
also be plural.
·
Subject verb agreement simply
means the subject and verb must agree in number. This means both need to be
singular or both need to be plural.
·
The subject of a sentence can
be singular (one) or plural (many)
·
The verb form can be change
depending on whether the subject is singular or plural.
e.g. the computer (singular
subject) is (verb) old.
The computers (plural
subject) are (verb) old.
·
The verb must always agree
with its subject. Such as single subject = single verb, plural verb=plural verb

Write the following sentences
on the board and ask the students which one is correct. Do ask for the reason
why one is right or wrong. Such as we like swimming. We likes swimming.
