And this is not easy! Even people who are fluent in two or more languages find it difficult to switch between them. The solution is to think in English. You can do this anytime, anywhere. Try to think in English about your day or when you want to order food. He's even trying to look up word meanings in an English dictionary. That way you will never have to use or translate Spanish. If you think in English, you will soon realize that speaking English will be easier.

2. Use a mirror:

  • Take a few moments to look in the mirror and talk whenever you can. Pick a topic, set a 2-3 minute timer, and talk. The purpose of the exercise is to observe your mouth, face and body language while speaking. Plus, you'll feel like you're talking to someone so you can pretend you're chatting with a friend. Talk for 2-3 minutes. Stop! If you don't know how to say a word, try communicating in another way. After speaking for 2 or 3 minutes, you can always look at the pronunciation of a particular word. This will definitely help you determine which words and phrases are the most difficult for you.

3. Focus on fluency, not grammar:

  • How often do you stop when you speak English?
  • The longer you stand, the worse it will sound. Try the mirror exercise, but always challenge yourself to speak without stopping or stuttering. This means your sentences may not be grammatically perfect, and that`s okay! If you focus on speaking fluently instead of thinking about grammar, you`ll still get along and sound better. Then when you learn the rules better, you can use the right grammar.

4. Try a few tongue twisters:

  • Nursery rhymes are a series of words that are difficult to say quickly, as; “Thirty three thieves thought they excited the throne on Thursday” try saying it a few times! So it is not easy. These types of word games help you move your mouth and tongue correctly and can even improve your pronunciation. You can find a good list of nursery rhymes here.

5. Look, Listen and Repeat:

  • Watching TV shows or YouTube videos in English on media devices, so use them to improve your fluency and then choose an episode of a show and repeat it exactly. Few words; the main thing is that you don`t stop talking. Try to sound like the characters in the show. For this purpose ‘Fluent U’ is a great tool for doing such exercise. Fluent takes real videos (like movie trailers, music videos, news and motivational talks) and turns them into personalized English lessons. When you watch a video here, you will find all the dialogues and definitions for each word directly on your screen. This makes it easier to listen and repeat. Turn off subtitles if you want a challenge

1.     6.  A better idea is to learn expressions, not just words:

  • You may speak with correct grammar and vocabulary, but native speakers sometimes don't. For example, you can say: “how do you feel today?”, While a native speaker will say “how’re you doing?” or "what's up?" Expressions can help you speak more naturally.

2.     7.  Learn common sayings:

  • Take some time to think about how you actually speak Urdu, Saraiki. What words and expressions do you use often? Learn to say your favorite words and expressions in English. By doing so, you will be able to speak your most common phrases in English as well as you can in Urdu and Saraiki.

3.      8. Prepare for specific situations:

  • Are you learning English for a particular reason? For example, are you learning the language to get a job in a foreign company? If so, practice the English commonly used in job interviews. Are you learning English to make friends in other countries? So, you will need a different kind of English.

  • Before you go to a place where you have to speak in English, you can practice some conversations that you will probably have. If you are going to a restaurant, what kind of conversation would you have? Answer the questions a waiter would probably ask you. Try talking about food and menus.

4.     9Study aloud:

  • Although reading in English is fine, we don't know many people who say, "I just want to learn to read in English." No. What people need is to SPEAK English. If you do not hear yourself or yourself saying what you are learning out loud, if you do not know how you have to put your mouth to pronounce certain sounds and if you do not practice it enough when you are studying, you will not be able to start to talk in real life situation so clear.

5.      10. Talk to yourself:

  • Talking alone or alone may seem silly to you. Well, it is sillier not to be able to communicate in English after trying to learn it all your life, right? Whenever you are alone or alone at home, take the opportunity to speak out loud. For example: tell yourself what you are going to do during the day when you are in the shower in the morning or tell an imaginary camera what recipe you are following while preparing dinner. Or whatever you can think of! This way you will be less embarrassed when you have to speak to someone in English, and you will also work on your grammar and vocabulary.

6.    11.  Record whatever you done yourself:

  • Give a monologue about how your day was going on your sound recorder and evaluate yourself afterwards. If improvising is not your thing, another option to improve your pronunciation is to take a text in English and record yourself while you read it. Then think about what you can improve and work on those aspects.

7.      12. Pay attention to the rhythm and how the sounds come together:

  • Hear the sounds come together in English and play it while you speak. A practical example: look at the phrase how much is it? Nobody says How-much-is-it? Like this, separating the words. What you hear is rather this: / hháumaa · chi · sit /. Well, when you learn this phrase, learn it like this and the same with everything else. You will see how you understand much better when they speak to you and how you’re English begins to sound much more fluent.

8.      13. Change speed:

  • Whether when you speak alone or alone, when you read aloud, or when you practice with different structures, try to do it very slowly first, as slowly as you can, as if you were speaking in slow motion, and then increase the pace, each time faster, until you can barely vocalize. This exercise is great to see how each sound is articulated and to gain agility.

9.      14. Imitate the tourists:

  • Almost all the Spanish speakers we meet imitate tourists speaking Spanish perfectly. It may seem silly, but this is a great way to get the intonation of English and to practice with sounds that do not exist in Spanish. For example, say several times out loud and then stick with that intonation to say: Can I have a beer, please? You will see how much better it turns out!

15. When you have nothing else to do, translate mentally:

  • Stick with the phrases you read or hear when you go on the subway or are watching TV, for example, and think about the best way to translate them into English. It is perfect for acquiring new vocabulary and expressions, and for working on your oral agility. Also, you will never get bored!

11   14. Create a thousand structures from a single phrase:

  • This trick is great for working on grammar. For example, imagine you go on the subway and someone says my father is home. Translate it mentally: My father is at home and yesterday? My father was at home yesterday and tomorrow? My father will be at home tomorrow, and this morning? My father has been at home this morning. Well! And now, repeat with another subject, for example: They’re at home, they were at home yesterday, they will be at home tomorrow, and they’ve been at home this morning. Okay, and now negative: My father isn’t at home, my father wasn’t at home yesterday, my father won’t be at home tomorrow, etc. And in questioning? Is my father at home ?, Was my father at home yesterday ?, Will my father be at home tomorrow ?, etc. Keep it up for as long as you can and then try more phrases. Oh, and if you do it in a place where you can say it out loud or you can record yourself saying it, even better!

1115 . Just Relax:

  • You will feel more secure if you are prepared!
  • Just relax! By learning to speak English, you are either your best ally or your worst enemy! We know it is difficult, but try not to worry about the way you speak. Just relax! If you get confused, just take a deep breath and start over. Speak more slowly if you have to. Take the time to stop and think about your next sentence. Do your best to gain confidence when speaking in English

12. 16.  Bonus: the best trick of all

  • We always say it, but we never tire of repeating it: the best trick to learn English is perseverance. All these tips are great, but they are useless if you are not consistent. And you are not going to be constant if you are overwhelmed by wanting to learn everything NOW, because then the only thing you are going to achieve is to have a hard time and hate English. Do not stress: do a little every day, without bingeing, and above all ... enjoy it. The little you do every day is already much more than doing nothing.
