USES OF ICT IN ARCHITECTURE

  • This article’s  aims to describe the great advance that human beings have made building tools, mainly in the genre of architecture, all this to make life easier, technology has its advantages, as it can be of great help as a tool in the electronic, cybernetic, art, science, research, and projecting perspectives on architecture. The great advance and the way in which architecture is being conceived and how it is developed, is changing thanks to technological and computational advances. The encounter between architecture and computing is an event that acquires relevance today, this intersection would imply a reworking of the profession that does not only depend on the logic imposed by digital tools but on the new visions that are built in the profession and culture over a technologically mediated society. Another technological contribution at an architectural level is in the organization of the project, from its simplest form, such as Excel spreadsheets, to its most complex form, such as the software in the development of the project. Likewise, the implementation of marketing tools that benefit the publication of the different ranges of services offered by an office or an architecture company, making it easier for the client to quote and easily find the company or product that best suits accommodate your needs . The great technological change also implies a transition between generations that which in their professional life has begun to be updated in the handling of this new type of technology and the generation that has grown up with them. Tics in architecture can be used in the purely professional field as well as in the academic field. From the point of view of the profession, the market requires hiring architects who handle this type of technology. The training of future architects in the management of these, and if it is necessary to make a differentiation between the uses of ICTs in academia for pedagogical purposes and training in the management of specific digital tools to meet the needs of the labor market.

  1.  ICT IN TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCESSES IN ARCHITECTURE :From a professional point of view and its demands, the implementation of ICTs in the area cannot be limited to training and management of specific digital tools and / or peripherals, mostly related to tools. , even more so when there has been no discussion about how they are being used, how efficient they are and what integration strategies regarding the development of architectural projects have been implemented, taking into account, for example, that the use is much more than outlining, edit and create drawings, and which technologies to use in academia as well as in professional practice.

  • Conclusion ICTs are a means that allows intensifying the pedagogical activity in the architecture career and therefore the teaching and learning processes. The computer together with digital tools and their understanding are not the ultimate goal. Using a digital tool or specific software does not by itself guarantee a good result. A criterion for teaching the software or tool and its application must be present.
  • From the incursion of technology and its adaptation in every action of daily life in an almost unconscious way and It shows us how indispensable the use of tics is in all the activities we undertake today, especially in our professional activity as architects, whether to express an idea or communicate it. That is why it is essential to understand what these new technologies are and which ones are at the service of our profession, in terms of improving the production, communication and presentation of architectural information obtaining in this way, the benefits that the technological era brings in the field of Architecture. The concept of progress, as we conceive it today, is closely associated with the idea of technology, and consequently with science and technology. If we think about the latter and the theoretical basis on which architecture as a discipline is based, both in art and technique. We realize that they have a direct and complementary relationship. If we think about the evolution of technique in architecture, from the point of view of design, we will be able to realize that this leap implies more transcendental things than a mere realistic representation of an urban or architectural work.

  • Technology and its contribution to Architecture:  Technological tools the way in which architecture is being conceived and how it is developed is changing thanks to technological and computational advances. They are born from these new advances, tools capable of building digital models, by means of coordinates, that allow to represent projects as complex as Frank Gerry’s - to name a few - or programming software, which are used for the design of parametric architecture. , with which we can specify complex geometries. One of the advantages of this computer program is that the model that is created is modifiable and manipulable in parts, without the need to redo the complete model, which optimizes the modeling times in the computer, allowing greater efficiency at the time to meet the deadlines set with customers. 3d modeling allows the user to preview a project, which perhaps they could not do so clearly with a plan or elevation Supported by massive exposure platforms such as power point or photographic tools like Photoshop. Another technological contribution at an architectural level is in the organization of the project, from its simplest form, such as excel spreadsheets, to its most complex form, such as software in the development of the project. Likewise, the implementation of marketing tools that benefit the publication of the different ranges of services offered by an office or an architecture company, making it easier for the client to quote and easily find the company or product that is most suitable. Accommodate your needs.
  • A new virtual public space The dissemination and basification of communication networks have allowed the world to share them immediately in terms of technological advances or movements and trends, where the exchange of information and forms of socialization are creating a true virtual public space, a luck of great agora in which people from all over the world converge to socialize, exchange ideas, trade, etc. This phenomenon leads us to ask ourselves a crucial question: If the public space is being virtualized, and the ICTs take on great importance. Will it be necessary to build future public spaces of the network, since it is acting as one? Will we all end up relating like in the movie WALL-E? In the professional environment, technological advances take on a transcendental importance, where in addition to the creation of useful production tools, communication between company - client or even in meetings between company managers are made through platforms such as Skype, where it allows people to talk and look at each other in real time. The creation of platforms that show us what is taking place in other countries in terms of construction, immateriality, trends and thoughts reaches us almost instantly and directly, added to the opportunity to interact with the content in discussion forums. In matters of exposure and arrival towards users, tics are essential for clear, fast and neat information, allowing to link and reach the minds of people in a more didactic way. That is why these three key words, science, technique and technology, linked to specific human activities, are inextricably linked to the world in which we live.

  1. Relationship between ICT and Architecture: We are currently in the era of communication and technology, as these over time have been more related to people in such a way that they have become indispensable in the learning processes and daily activities, the need for communication is a factor resulting day to day, and they have taken a large part of what is commerce, advertising among other characteristics, which allow to pass an idea, product or information from great distances quickly and free of charge. What are Tics? They are Information and Communication technologies, that is, they are those computational and computer tools that process, synthesize, retrieve and present information represented in the most varied way. It is a set of tools, supports and channels for the treatment and access to information, to shape, record, store and disseminate digitized content. For all kinds of educational applications, ICTs are means and not ends. Therefore, they are instruments and construction materials that facilitate learning, skill development and different forms of learn styles and rhythms of the learners.

  • ICTs and Architecture Communication and Information Technologies have taken control of learning and communication, and architecture is a visual art, for this reason its way of perceiving it is through sight, a well-structured project can be explained, but the client or The student will not understand it and even less if he has mastered the language, and if it is a pre-existing structure, what better way to explain it than with images and audiovisual material. Through the unlimited use of tics, the architect can teach, learn, update and even advertise their projects, since the recipient will understand in a more dynamic and easy way the project that is being discussed and its different characteristics, large companies also have of the tics to advertise, just by uploading the patented project, the recipient will be convinced of the "product" that is being offered, and the way to communicate with the company, monitoring it and staying informed of every available update. We are currently in the era of communication and technology, as these over time have been more related to people.
