Students’ Learning Outcomes

·         Students will be able to identify all phonetic and non-phonetic words in poem.
·         Students will be able to recognize all the sounds of words present in poem.
·         Students may repeat segmenting, blending and formation of all sounds of words present in poem.

·         Phonetic words: a relationship between sound and word. Such as the word "dad" being spelled the way it sounds.

·         Segmenting: Phoneme segmentation is the ability to break words down into individual sounds. The ability to split words up into their separate speech sounds Such as breaks the word run into its component sounds –/ r/, / u/, and/ n/.
·         Blending: a blend word or a blend is a word formed from parts of two or more other words, to look, recognize, spell the sound and combine the letter in word, are called blending.

·        Opening: 

o   Revision of the sound of alphabet:

v  Ask the students to repeat the sounds of letters just 4-6 students from class.

·        Introduction to the new material:

o   Look and say:
v  Ask the students to check all the words which are used in the lesson.
v  To write down all these words on the board and make a table
v  Ask the students to write down all these words in related box in table.

·        Group/ Guided practice:

o   Thinking and discussion:
v  To write the sentence on the board (The little plant heard) to ask the students to check all the words which are present in this sentence.
v  CCQ: Do you think “heard” is a phonetic word?
(Expected responses: no)

v  Do you think “little” is a phonetic word?
(Expected responses: yes)

·         Note:  Teacher will not himself spell the words instead he gives a chance to the students so that reading skill of the students may be improved.
·         Ask the students to check all the words in the poem, then count sounds of the words and underline separate sounds of the letter in the words.

·        Individual Practice:

o   Practice on worksheet and textbook.
o   Makes the sentences from each student as given in the textbook.
